Experience Serbian nature and local life! We’ll take you to the second oldest natural preserve in the world as well as a small village, Pecini. See how locals live, try domestic food and feel like a Serbian, at least for a while!
Highlights:
Our first stop is the Museum of Bread where we will meet Mr. Jeremija who moved from Belgrade to a small village, Pecinci. He will explain to us why he moved from Belgrade, how he constructed the museum, as well as the history of bread production in Serbia.
Our next stop is Obedska pond. It is the second oldest natural preserve in the world, after Yellowstone! First, we will drive by catamaran for approx. 45 min. The leisurely boat ride will enable you to relax in the peacefulness of your surroundings while listening the birds’ songs. This area is known as the “healing place,” where people come in order to connect with the nature.
After the boat ride, we will continue our sightseeing and start bird watching just near the pond, who’s fauna includes 220 species of birds.
Next, we will meet the locals and try domestic honey at one of the households in the village. They have their own bees, so their honey is 100% organic and it is for sale, should you feel inspired to take some home with you! During the summer time in this area, people work the whole day on their property. If we are lucky, we will see how they cultivate the land.
On our way back to Belgrade, we’ll take you to the ethno restaurant at Bojcinska forest, near Belgrade. Here, you can try local specialties, sweets and domestic coffee.
